Philo Magnet Academy offers instruction in Mandarin Chinese, International Business and World Culture, and Global Technology. These programs promote academic excellence and cultural awareness, and provide the skills necessary for success in a global economy.

Mandarin Chinese Partial Language Immersion Program

Philo Magnet Academy offers multiple opportunities for students to learn Mandarin Chinese, the most widely spoken language in the world. Students who choose the Partial Language Immersion program receive language instruction in math, physical education and Mandarin Chinese class. Students also can take Mandarin Chinese as their language elective.

Philo Magnet Academy’s Global Technology

By using interactive whiteboards, foreign language labs and other technology, students connect to a larger world. They not only learn how computers run but use different components to build their own computers. E-mail helps them keep in touch with pen pals in China and Colombia. A foreign language is required as an elective.

International Business and World Cultures

Students at Philo Magnet Academy study all types of careers that are touched by foreign markets, including banking and trade. They explore world cultures through arts and music. A foreign language is required as an elective at Philo Magnet Academy.
